I got back a few days ago from a mid-week trip to Isabela here in Puerto Rico. My girlfriend and I stayed at one of the best hotels I’ve ever been to, The Royal Isabela. The food was so-so, the service was decent, but the serenity of the property, the rooms, and the private beach make it a strong recommendation for me. We booked a weekday room a month from now when we left (that was the next available), we liked it so much.
I’ve been continuing on a bit of backslide with my health, due to underestimating a lifetime of habits, but I’m back on it. I’ve been working a lot, and made a few breakthroughs with my machine learning and trading strategies. Some of these breakthroughs required many hours of annoying data cleaning/preparation, and when I’m tired I feel like I can resort to anything to get me through my work (namely extra caffeine/not preparing food which often leads to worse choices eating out), but I’m going to have a solid week of nutrition and exercise this week. I still have loads of things to test/experiment on with work, but I have a solid foundation of strategies now, and plan to primarily observe them running this week as opposed to creating something new from scratch.
On the creative front I’m back to blogging as my minimum standard of (non-financial) creative output, but I also plan to attempt to shoot a (very) short comedy video this next weekend with my girlfriend. It’s something we’ve talked about for a while as something we could do together, but keep putting off. I enjoy brainstorming funny things, writing short scenarios, and I’ve invested a lot of time in film education. I would like to add one extra little thing to my week outside of training, work, reading, being outdoors, and communicating/having fun with friends, and I figured I would give this a shot.
It’s a short post today as I have a fairly big week of testing with real money my new trading algorithms, so I’ll make up for it with extra pictures from my trip this week. Wishing you all a great week!
